Resolute Promise is the culmination of over two decades of work in the MIA field, having viewed this puzzle from multiple angles. From research at the National Archives to trudging through mangroves and jungles, to scuba diving in murky silty waters, it all leads to bringing home MIAs so their families may properly lay them to rest. Every aspect was documented for the historical record and to bring the work to the public.

I recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all to bringing home our fallen.  Resolute Promise will augment and amplify the work of governmental agencies and others tasked with various aspects of finding, identifying, and returning our MIAs.

Coordinating all aspects of MIA research, discovery, and identification seeing up close what works best in the field to get more remains home to their families has informed how we have built our team and our philosophies on how to carry out our mission while upholding the values we hold dear.

CHIEF SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR - I am a board-certified forensic anthropologist (American Board of Forensic Anthropology Certificate No. 66), but also an environmental archaeologist with a specialty in animal bones from archaeological sites. The recovery and identification of America's missing service members are important to me as an American and a son of a veteran.  As a young boy in the late 1960s, I remember fearing my father not coming home from the Vietnam Conflict.  While he was fighting as a heavy weapons mortarman for 4 years, the anxiety we felt at the possibility of having a black Lincoln Continental pull up in our rural driveway was concrete and palpable.  He came home, not completely unscathed by his combat experience, but it gave me a better understanding of what the families of the missing go through. These missing men and women, we can all relate to because we are all sons, daughters, wives, husbands, brothers, and sisters.  It is part of our American grief and our responsibility to bring them home and give them back their names.
